SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission- Combined Graduate Level) exam includes 3 phases- Tier 1 (based on objective questions), Tier 2 (Main examination) and Tier 3 (Interview).
SSC CGL Tier-I exam is the most important phase for all students. Those students who work hard and preparation well according to the given syllabus and pattern, they surely clear SSC CGL tier I exam. It is the easy exam among all three tiers and doors open for the tier II exam, if you clear tier I.
SSC CGL Tier I exam is objective questions based exam consist of 200 marks and includes following section:

-General English
Each subject has 50 questions. Negative marking is applied in this exam that is 0.25 mark. This exam is organized in Hindi and English both language. Candidates choose the language during apply for the exam online.

Preparation for SSC CGL Tier I Exam
General Intelligence and Reasoning
Reasoning questions sharp your mind. Prepare latest reasoning questions from the standard books. Reasoning questions consist of both verbal and non-verbal. Most important topics of this section are- Problems on analogy, syllogism, blood relationship, direction & distance, coding-decoding, Venn diagrams, mirror and water images, figure based problems etc.
Mostly questions are asked from these topics. So prepare important topics according to the time also practice previous years questions.
General Awareness
It is also the important part of this exam. It consist 50 questions in this section (SSC CGL Tier-I). In this section, latest events and happenings questions are asked in the exam. So prepare your General awareness via news and read latest news on the Internet on daily basis.
Also read newspapers on daily basis to get knowledge about general awareness. Questions asked in this exam based on following subjects- Science, History, Geography, Polity, Economics, and Arts & Culture etc.
General Aptitude
It is the tricky part of this section. Most of the questions in this section are tricky and maths concept based. For this, you need to clear your basic concepts of Mathematics. If you clear your Mathematics concepts first, then you can easily prepare of this subject.
In this sections, questions are asked in the following topics- ratio and proportion, profit and loss, time, distance and work, average, allegation, elementary mensuration, algebra, trigonometry,etc.
General English
Questions based on comprehension are asked in this section. This section consists of following topics- Passage, Antonyms and Synonyms, Matching Definitions, Grammar etc.
This section check your ability and judges your mind capacity to understand the English language and proper use of grammar with tips and tricks. Read English newspapers and practice from standard books to reform your English subject.
